[h=1]2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Named Texas’ Top Crossover[/h]by HYUNDAI IN THE NEWS on OCTOBER 15, 2013
Battling in one of the most competitive segments in the industry and taking on some of the toughest terrain in the Lone Star State, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was recently named “CUV of Texas” at the annual Truck Rodeo run by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). Hyundai’s crossover success in Texas is becoming a bit of a habit, too: The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was also named Mid-Size CUV of Texas at this year’s event, while the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport won its class in the 2012 rodeo.
“We are very pleased the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has been named ‘CUV of Texas’ and proud to see that the Santa Fe family continues its winning streak at the Truck Rodeo,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, Corporate and Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Given the fact that Santa Fe Sport was named Compact Crossover at last year’s Rodeo, TAWA members have further confirmed the amazing versatility of this crossover with its five-, six- or seven-passenger configurations.”
In all cases, as demonstrated in Texas, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe proved itself to be highly capable, even on the hills, gravel and mud that make up the event’s test “track.” Yet at the same time, it also aced TAWA’s tests for efficiency, road manners, driving dynamics and value.
As explained by Michael Marrs, president of the writer’s association: “TAWA members overwhelmingly selected the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe as the Crossover of Texas. Crossovers are important to Texans as they need vehicles that deliver on comfort, functionality and reliability. Hyundai exceeded those expectations and had the best product in the category.”
