[h=1]All-Wheel Drive Arrives for Redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis[/h]by HYUNDAI IN THE NEWS on JANUARY 13, 2014
Hyundai must be hoping that history repeats itself with the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan. The company introduced the first-generation model at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2009, and not only did it earn Car of the Year honors, it also helped establish the brand as a credible alternative in the entry-lux segments. This year’s model brings new breakthroughs, too, including the introduction of Hyundai’s first all-wheel-drive system for U.S. owners.
Called HTRAC, the lightweight setup provides three driving modes, including a “Sport” setting, as well as active torque control with a particular wide range of built-in variability. It’s also backed by plenty of high-performance testing, as Hyundai drivers validated the 2015 Hyundai Genesis with HTRAC on international raceways like the Nürburgring and the Korea International Circuit Formula One course. On the other hand, designers further ensured that the 2015 Hyundai Genesis would offer top-shelf amenities along with its top-gear performance.

- Advanced eight- and nine-speed automatic transmissions
- Peak outputs of 420 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque from an available 5.0-liter V-8
- Enhanced seating, highlighted by heated and ventilated front seats and a heated second row
- Access to all of Hyundai’s latest connectivity/infotainment features, with screens of up to 9.2 in., simplified phone pairing, a 17-speaker 900-watt Lexicon audio system, and even apps for Google Glass and Hyundai’s new digital intelligent assistant
- Driver-assistance technologies like blind-spot warning, head-up display, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot detection system, automatic highbeams and even a CO2 sensor for the cabin
