[h=1]Hyundai Sets All-time Benchmark for October Sales[/h]by HYUNDAI IN THE NEWS on NOVEMBER 1, 2013

Backed by new technologies on two of its top-selling models, Hyundai just broke its all-time October sales record by delivering 53,555 units last month. Along with a 6.5 percent increase in volume over October 2012, that total also represented the outcome of an especially challenging month.
“October was a bit of a roller coaster ride for the entire automotive sector so we feel pretty good about exceeding prior year sales results and posting our best-ever October performance,” reported Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president of national sales for Hyundai Motor America. “We expect continued economic and political stabilization throughout the final two months of 2013, which should ease uncertainty, boost consumer confidence and restore a robust growth curve for new vehicle sales.”
Also likely to keep that growth curving in the right direction are new safety measures, like blind-spot detection systems, that are part of significant upgrades to the 2014 Hyundai Sonata and 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. Consider: The Sonata, which is Hyundai’s midsize contender, boosted sales by 18.5 percent last month, when it delivered 19,872 units, while the crossover duo of the Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport combined for 8,194 deliveries and a hefty 36 percent sales advance.
Moving forward, said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America: “While we continue to rebuild dealer inventories on core models like Sonata and Santa Fe, we’re also looking forward to the Los Angeles International Auto Show in a few weeks, where we’ll be introducing a refreshed 2014 Elantra lineup and our take on the next generation of electric vehicles.”
