[h=1]Redesigned Hyundai Genesis Sedan to Offer All-Wheel Drive[/h]by HYUNDAI IN THE NEWS on OCTOBER 24, 2013
After helping catapult Hyundai to national prominence by winning the North American Car of the Year Award some five years ago, the Hyundai Genesis Sedan will mark another breakthrough for the company in 2014. That’s when the brand-new, next-generation model of the sedan is slated to reach the market with the first all-wheel-drive system ever offered on one of the company’s cars.
The technology is called HTRAC and will feature a three-mode drive selector that works to split torque between the front and rear axles for improved grip, stability and cornering capabilities.
Other highlights of the reinvented Hyundai Genesis Sedan will include its fresh Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, the latest iteration of Hyundai’s Human Machine Interface approach to cabin ergonomics and Advanced Traction Cornering Control, which will further tighten the car’s road reflexes. Engineers also made a significant effort to improve the safety performance in the next Hyundai Genesis Sedan, deploying additional ultra-high-strength steel to improve the car’s rigidity and body structure, as well as technologies like a new Emergency Fastening Device that can automatically ensure optimum safety-belt performance in potential crash situations.
Hyundai will provide more details about the redesigned Hyundai Genesis Sedan moving forward, having just shown the first renderings of the car during a special media presentation in its home market of South Korea. For now, however, Moon Sik Kwon, head of Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D Center, assures future customers that: “The evolved all-new Genesis is the product of Hyundai’s best resources and capabilities and we strongly believe it will be a game-changer in the market.”
