Santa Fe Named Best New Crossover in Atlanta

The short story from the 2013 Atlanta International Auto Show, according to Davis Adams, president of the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association(GAAMA): “For this year’s Best Crossover Award, GAAMA chose the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe for its handsome new design, luxurious interior, impressive technologies, accessible pricing and the flexibility for five- and seven-passenger configurations.”
Further helping matters, reported the GAAMA judges, were features like the Santa Fe’s 290-horsepower V-6 engine, Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and five years of complimentary roadside assistance.
The Santa Fe’s long list of standard and available features also includes:

• Available all-wheel drive with Active Cornering Control
• Driver Selectable Steering Mode
• Heated front and rear seats, with a heated steering wheel
• Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics system, as well as next-gen nav and audio setups with an eight-inch color display
• Power liftgate
• Panoramic sunroof
• Second-row bench seating or captain’s chairs
• Maximum tow rating of 5,000 lbs. and a flush-mounted hitch
• Stain- and soil-resistant YES Essentials seat fabrics
• Proximity entry and push-button start

Even with a powerful V-6 beneath the hood, the Santa Fe can achieve EPA ratings of up to 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway/21 mpg combined—thanks to a curb weight some 240 lbs. lower than that of the Nissan Pathfinder.
