The high quality and value of Hyundai products have once again been recognized by independent third-party experts, as Consumer Guide recently honored five members of the Hyundai lineup for being particularly smart choices for today’s drivers. In making their picks, Consumer Guide reviewers carefully evaluated hundreds of new vehicles in areas such as price, features, performance, accommodations, fuel economy, reliability and resale value.
Three Hyundai vehicles earned “Best Buy” status from Consumer Guide, an honor given only to top-rated vehicles that are “strongly approved” by the publication’s editors:
  • Hyundai Accent (Subcompact Car)—The redesigned Accent starts at just $12,545 and can deliver EPA ratings of up to 30 mpg city/40 mpg highway/34 mpg combined.
  • Hyundai Sonata (Midsize Car)—Available in standard, turbocharged and hybrid flavors, the Sonata begins at $19,795.
  • Hyundai Tucson (Compact SUV)—The Tucson enjoys increased fuel economy of up to 32 mpg highway this year, along with an MSRP of $19,145.
In addition, two more of the automaker’s vehicles were named to the Consumer Guide “Recommended” list as vehicles that “are still worth strong consideration by consumers for their unique combination of attributes and value”:
  • Hyundai Elantra (Compact Car)—The Elantra also was crowned the 2012 North American Car of the Year in January.
  • Hyundai Genesis (Large Car)—With a 429-hp 5.0-liter V8, the new Genesis R-Spec Sedan holsters the most powerful production engine Hyundai has ever sold.
“We are honored and thrilled to have five vehicles named as ‘Best Buys’ or ‘Recommended Picks’ by Consumer Guide Automotive,” said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “With the combination of fuel efficiency, state-of-the-art safety technology and our modern designs, it’s no wonder so many of our vehicles rose above other vehicles in their class.”
