The award-winning 2011 Hyundai Elantra was at it again recently, driving off with not one, not two, but three more key industry honors in just its first few months on the market.

Among them was a spot on the prestigious Ward’s 10 Best Interiors list along with premium entries from Audi and BMW. Ward’s editors specifically called out the Elantra’s instrument panel as a reason for the recognition, noting that “The instrument panel of this $22,110 5-passenger sedan displays a curvaceous sensuality, with a belt drawn tightly around the climate controls; the center console then widens as it flows down to the gear shifter.”

In addition, the experts at KBB.com, a leading online source of information for auto shoppers, named the Elantra one of its “Top Green Cars of 2011.” The deciding factor here was that even though “There are now a few non-hybrid compact cars that deliver highway fuel economy of at least 40 miles per gallon, the 2011 Hyundai Elantra is the only one that does so in every trim.” And regardless of whether drivers choose a manual or automatic transmission, too.

KBB.com editors also were “fans of the all-new Elantra’s bold sheet metal, stylish interior and attractive list of standard and optional features.”

Finally, on the odd chance that even with these kinds of kudos some customers might not have noticed the hot-selling Hyundai yet, the crew at NADAguides added the Elantra Touring to its 2011 Must Consider List. The annual list showcases vehicles that the experts from the National Auto Dealers Association (NADA) consider to be in need of some extra attention. The Elantra Touring certainly got their attention as a “fierce wagon contender with classy appeal for a sensible list price,” along with a long list of standard features that includes a 172-watt, six-speaker sound system, remote keyless entry, and Hyundai’s Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control System. In fact, Troy Snyder, NADAguides’ director of product development, said, “Hyundai continues to impress with the Elantra Touring, offering luxury class appeal and features at a very attainable price. This vehicle proves you can have it all AND be cost savvy.”

Which is definitely a point worth considering if you’re in the market for a new vehicle.
